Tenants

Moving for work? Choosing the right area can mean the difference between settling nicely and having to move again...

For example, here are a few popular areas in Liverpool and what's best about each:

Aigburth

Best for: Families and professionals wanting a quieter neighbourhood without being too far from town.

Typical rent: £1,000–£1,500/month

Aigburth is a great choice for those prioritising space, green areas and a quieter lifestyle. You’ll find houses in quiet neighbourhoods, along with plenty of local shops and restaurants. Sefton Park, Lark Lane and Calderstones are within easy reach.

Benefits:

  • Good links into the city
  • Family friendly
  • Excellent access to green space
  • Generally better value than the city centre

Georgian Quarter

Best for: Younger professionals and key workers who want convenience and character.

Typical rent: £750–£2,500/month

If you want to be close to Liverpool’s universities, Royal Liverpool Hospital and the city centre, the Georgian Quarter is hard to overlook.

You’ll find stunning period architecture and independent restaurants. Public spaces such as Faulkner Square give the area plenty of character. Most rental options are flats within converted Georgian properties.

Benefits:

  • Easy commute to town
  • Close to major hospitals
  • Excellent for university staff
  • Great food and nightlife nearby

Baltic Triangle

Best for: Creative professionals and those who work close to the city centre.

Typical rent: £1,000+/month

The Baltic Triangle offers a very different experience. Drastic local changes have created a culture of creativity, which feeds positively into the area's restaurants, nightlife and other attractions. However, this may also make finding affordable rates harder, and peace and quiet harder to come by.

The area is also less convenient for public transport than you might expect, despite being close to the city centre.

Consider these before deciding yay or nay...

  • A creative atmosphere
  • Lots of new-build housing
  • Baltic Market & local hotspots
  • One of the more expensive options

So, which should you choose?

For families → Aigburth

For convenience & character → Georgian Quarter

For city-centre/bold lifestyle → Baltic Triangle
